Based on MacRumors report, Twitter is reportedly laying the groundwork to enable Bitcoin (BTC) tips for content creators, the report says that while Bitcoin is not yet available in the Tip Jar, beta code suggests it will be. Twitter introduced the Tip Jar in May as a way for users to reward content creators on the popular social media platform, and it currently supports payment platforms like PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App, so if reports of Bitcoin tipping are true, then BTC will be added alongside these payment platforms as acceptable Crypto payment options on the Tip Jar.

Once the bitcoin tipping feature is in place, users shouldn't have to wait minutes for transactions to be validated on the blockchain, in fact according to a portion of the text quoted by MacRumors, the Bitcoin tipping feature will use the Strike payment gateway to generate Bitcoin "Lightning invoices".

Dorsey has previously described Bitcoin as key to Twitter's future, stating the company's intention to integrate BTC into services such as commerce and subscriptions. Twitter's founder and CEO Jack Dorsey in fact is a big supporter of Bitcoin, for example recently Dorsey also revealed that Square was developing a hardware "assisted custody" wallet for Bitcoin , furthermore he also expressed interest in Bitcoin mining, this is to say that it wouldn't be very strange if this Twitter feature becomes a reality, this move could to bring crypto token tipping to the mainstream making the Cryptocurrency market grow.
